A scout was a starship classification for a support ship. These ships have minimal offensive and defensive capabilities, superb sensors, and are very maneuverable and fast. In the Klingon and Romulan fleets, scouts are equipped with cloaking devices. (ST roleplay module: Narrator's Guide)

The Mark VI MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/S variant, more commonly known as Scout Armor, or simply Scout, is a type of United Nations Space Command body armor. A variant of the MJOLNIR Mark VI, the Scout Armor uses advanced materials to give it stealth properties, while the 'R' variant reduces the IR signature and radiation.[1]

The Scout and Recon projects were run as parallel projects intended to develop a single variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor with stealth capabilities and no impact on endurance; however, the SCOUT variant relies heavily on highly advanced materials. It was tested in ONI's Ordnance Testing Facility B5D at Swanbourne, Perth, in Western Australia.[1]

It features a cap-like protrusion, along its rim and a beak-like protrusion under the chin. It is usually best to use this armor for sniping because its thin, slit-shaped visor keeps it less visible than other helmets. Its general shape could be compared to a full face helmet usually worn when participating in motor sports, such as motocross.

The shoulders are straight and angular. Unlike other shoulder pieces, the Scout shoulders are attached slightly above the elbow, instead of on the shoulder. They are remarkably similar to the original Marine armor from Halo: Combat Evolved, and the shoulder plates of the Brutes in Halo 2.

Like the other MJOLNIR variants, the chest plate is simply an attachment that is placed onto the already existing Mark VI armor. The chest armor consists of an H-shaped plate over the upper torso, and a pair of articulated plates attached to its bottom.

Scouts are trained talent evaluators who travel extensively for the purposes of watching athletes play their chosen sports and determining whether their set of skills and talents represent what is needed by the scout's organization. Some scouts are interested primarily in the selection of prospects, younger players who may require further development by the acquiring team but who are judged to be worthy of that effort and expense for the potential future payoff that it could bring, while others concentrate on players who are already polished professionals whose rights may be available soon, either through free agency or trading, and who are seen as filling a team's specific need at a certain position. Advance scouts watch the teams that their teams are going to play in order to help determine strategy.
Many scouts are former coaches or retired players, while others have made a career just of being scouts. Skilled scouts who help to determine which players will fit in well with an organization can be the major difference between success and failure for the team with regard to wins and losses, which often relates directly to the organization's financial success or lack thereof as well.
Scouts are accounts that check an area for dangers before the main character goes to that area, or medium-levelled players who search out hiding enemies in Clan Wars. Scouts are usually low-levelled accounts (except for in clan wars), so death is not an issue for the non-clan wars players. Another definition is a player who checks that a Pest Control world is free, before inviting a large amount of high-levelled players to use that world. This practice has declined since the Pest Control update. Scouts may also be lurers or spies. Below is a list of what a scout could be used for.
