Scott Wheeler was the security guard who tried to apprehend Kate after her mother, Diane Janssen, called for help. Kate had arranged a visit to her mother in hospital by using her childhood friend and hospital employee Tom Brennan. Brennan had Diane moved to the hallway near his office so that Kate could talk to her. When her mother saw her she cried for help, and Kate ran. She was grabbed by Wheeler who tried to radio for backup but was knocked out by Kate. ("Born to Run")
