The Scoped .44 Magnum is a version of the .44 Magnum Revolver upgraded with a scope.

  • This powerful Small Gun seems to be based on the famous Smith & Wesson Model 29. Like the original revolver, the scoped version is a high-power sidearm. With the addition of the scope, the revolver is now capable of eliminating threats at medium-range distances.
  • Can be used to repair Paulson's Revolver, the Blackhawk and Callahan's Magnum.
  • When looking through the scope and firing there will be no recoil, allowing the player to snipe multiple targets easier than with an actual sniper rifle, but does less damage.
  • May also be a reference to the film Mad Max 2, in which the main antagonist has a similar gun

  • Blackhawk - Blackhawk is, arguably, the easiest unique Scoped .44 to obtain. While it's much stronger than the regular .44, it is also the weakest of the unique versions.
  • Callahan's Magnum (Broken Steel add-on) - Named after famous gunfighter and security guard Harold Callahan, Callahan's Magnum is the more effective version of Blackhawk, dealing more damage with less wear and tear.
  • Paulson's Revolver (Mothership Zeta add-on) - Drawn by space cowboy Paulson in the hostile confines of Mothership Zeta, it lacks the scope and fires a slew of pellets instead of a single bullet.
  • The table below compares the Scoped .44 Magnum and its variants.
Scoped .44 Magnum 35 2 35 32 240 4 300 YES
Blackhawk 55 2 45 32 360 4 500 YES
Callahan's Magnum 65 2 50 25 400 4 750 YES
Paulson's Revolver 45 2 35 32 240 4 300 NO

The .44 ammunition is somewhat rare in Fallout 3 and though the Scoped .44 Magnum has power, you may wish to conserve this ammunition type to use with the Blackhawk, Lincoln's Repeater, Callahan's Magnum and Paulson's Revolver if obtained and kept.

Usually people who sell arms and ammo, such as in Megaton and the armory in the Citadel, will restock on .44 rounds after 2-7 days.

One easy place is from Chief Gustavo in Tenpenny Tower or Flak 'N Shrapnel's in Rivet City.

Ammo for the .44 is now very simple to acquire for players who have downloaded The Pitt DLC. Players can use the Ammo Press to create .44 Ammo by using more common ammo types (such as 10mm or 5mm if they are not a Big Guns user).

If you keep Sydney alive, she usually has a large supply of .44 Magnum ammunition in her inventory.

The .44 Scoped Magnum appears only in Fallout 3.

Behind the scenes

  • This weapon is likely a reference to the weapon The Lord Humungus used in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.
