A Runite bar is a bar of refined runite ore. It can be created through the Smithing skill at level 85 by using a runite ore and 8 pieces of coal on a furnace, granting 50 Smithing experience.
A runite bar can be smithed on an anvil through the Smithing skill to create rune weapons and armour, granting 75 Smithing experience per bar used. A list of rune items that can be smithed from runite bars and the Smithing levels required can be found here. Runite is the most valuable smithable metal other than dragon pieces used to forge the Dragon Platebody.
Three runite bars may also be obtained as a random reward from the Crystal chest.
It is also the tertiary ingredient in infusing Rune minotaur pouches.
