One of the more general genres, sometimes there's just a need for a simple descriptor, and "Rock" is that, more often than not. Created through a combination of country and blues, a "rock band" is typically signified by the two guitars, bass and drums setup, with lots of energy and loudness. Distortion is often used. Rock is a genre that hasn't really died, in fact there are just as many practicioners of the genre as there has ever been; it has just been so finely criticized that the simple word, "rock," does not seem to be a good enough description anymore. In place are a wide variety of subgenres and styles of the popular trend that stretch from the manic Industrial Metal to the subtle Singer/Songwriter.
Rock is a naturally occurring substance composed of minerals.
The Horta dissolved rock with their acids to digest the mineral content, they also used their acids to burn through rock, moving as easily through it as a humanoid might through air. (TOS episode: The Devil in the Dark; DS9 novel: Devil in the Sky)
A talking Muppet rock appeared in episodes 301 and 302 of The Muppet Show. In episode 302, after Kermit the Frog introduces Leo Sayer as the guest and comments that it's not often they have any really good rock on the show, the rock takes offense.
The rock was performed by Jerry Nelson in episode 301, and Dave Goelz in episode 302.

When one of his Hulkbusters team-mates was killed in a training mission that was interrupted by Dr. Leonard Samson, LaRoquette swore vengence against anything with gamma-irradiated blood. Though having to work with Dr. Samson as part of a deal with SHIELD, he still wished to kill both the Rick Jones version of Hulk and the Bruce Banner version. When Nick Fury shut down the Hulkbusters, the Leader offered him and his former team-mate Craig Saunders Jr to help him to defeat the Hulk.
Leader changed LaRoquette into a stone-exoskeleton wearing machine of destruction.
Rock wears an exoskeleton suit that is composed of maleable rock. The suit is apparently continuously generating as it can create projectiles and be shaped at will. The suit is also capable of low-speed flight.

Rock monsters are an often-overlooked Type, though there were many released in The Lost Millennium series. Usually, Rock monsters belong to the Earth Attribute and possess high DEF and defense-related effects.
Archetypes include Monk, Hex-Sealed Fusions, and Sphinx cards.
Some of the more notable cards include: "Exxod, Master of The Guard", "Gigantes", "Legendary Jujitsu Master", "Mine Golem", "Moai Interceptor Cannons", "Muka Muka", "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole", "Sand Moth", "Stone Statue of the Aztecs", and Castle Gate"
Four Field Spell Cards exist that work particularly well with Rock monsters. "Wasteland" increases the ATK and DEF of Rock monsters by 200. "Canyon" inflicts double damage to anyone attacking a Defense Position Rock Monster with a weaker monster, "Gaia Power" increases the ATK of Earth monsters by 500 points, though it weakens their DEF, an important part of Rock Monsters' strategy, and "Acidic Downpour" which is the reverse of Gaia Power, decreasing their ATK by 500 but gain 400 DEF. Rock-Type monsters are weak against the card, "Breath of Light".
They also have their own Structure Deck, Structure Deck 7: Invincible Fortress.
