Rob Niedermayer (b. December 28th 1974 in Cassiar, British Columbia, Canada) is a professional ice hockey player who plays in the National Hockey League for the Anaheim Ducks.

Brother of Scott Niedermayer, Rob was the Florida Panthers' first pick in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft (5th overall). The Medicine Hat Tigers alumni set career highs in goals, assists and points in the 1995-96 NHL season, the same season that saw the Panthers go an unexpected playoffs run to the Stanley Cup, trophy they failed to win, losing four games to none to the Colorado Avalanche.

Niedermayer was traded to the Calgary Flames in 2001 with a draft pick for Valeri Bure and Jason Wiemer. Only two seasons later, he was dealt to the Mighty Ducks, with whom he had yet another unexpected playoffs run, this time again failing to win the Cup, losing to his brother's New Jersey Devils.
