Rick Hoberg was born in Belton, Texas in 1952. While still an infant, his family moved to Southern, California where he was raised. He took art courses in high school and college graduating with a BA in fine arts.

Rick Hoberg is a comic book artist from Belton, Texas. He inked a few Marvel Star Wars issues and also did some covers for the title. He started in the comics industry in the mid 1970s assisting Russ Manning on the early Star Wars and Tarzan newspaper strips. In the 1980s he worked on several DC Comics including The Brave and the Bold and Batman.
He has also done production sketches and merchandise work for Lucasfilm. Hoberg has also worked in animation for such companies as Hanna-Barbera and DiC Entertainment.
