The Ancient Weapon, identical in appearance to red Relics

Relics are items found in certain locations of the Global Tournament and are the main focus of the Capture the Relic game. There are two different colorings of relics: red and blue, each with gold trim. Relics are identical to the Ancient Weapon, which, in turn, is identical to the Resurrection Orbs. As a bundle, carrying a relic slows one's movement speed, and the bearer cannot make use of any weapons or weapon based skills until the relic is dropped.

The Relic is an item encountered in Devious Minds. Players doing the quest unwittingly help an assassin reach Entrana at which point he slays the monks who were protecting it and steals it. After the theft, the High Priest tells the player to inform Sir Tiffy Cashien of the events. He tells the player that he will be "in touch" later, hinting towards The Temple at Senntisten.  It appears to have a star of Saradomin carved on it.

The player later on receives the relic back from the assassin to give to Azzanadra during The Temple at Senntisten.

After The Temple at Senntisten, Azzanadra will tell you that the Relic is a catalyst for holy power and is pretty useless by itself. He says that it causes the Barrows icon to give off a larger amount of holy energy, which is then amplified using Frostenhorn to be able to communicate with Zaros. He also says that because the Saradominists have carved their symbol on it that he would want to be far away from any of their sites once Zaros saw it.

From Traveller Wiki - Science-Fiction Adventure in the Far future

Used as a noun or adjective ro refer to equipment or technology left over from the pre-Collapse era. Relic technology is typically of a higher tech level than that which is currently available in quantity. While this equipment is usually of great value and is actively sought out by people in the New Era, some worlds particularly hard-hit by the Final War or Collapse have become xenophobic and technophobic. People of these worlds often destroy all relic technology that they find, sometimes out of irrational anger at the events that the equipment represents, or by reasoning that only by renouncing such things can they avoid the calamity that befell them.
