Ree-Yees was a Gran from Kinyen. He suffered from a recessive genetic mutation, uncommon among Gran, which caused his hands to be deformed.

Ree-Yees was convicted of murder on Kinyen, and was in hiding on Tatooine as a member of Jabba Desilijic Tiure's court. He was an alcoholic, and was often seen associating with Tessek. Ree-Yees was assigned the task of taking care of Jabba's Frog-Dog pet Bubo.
The distrustful Jabba had a short-range bomb implanted in him. When Jabba said a certain phrase, the bomb would explode, killing Ree-Yees and any one next to him. This bomb could be used to kill an assassin, or if Ree-Yees himself was planning to kill Jabba (as he was).
Ree-Yees and Tessek were conspiring to plant a bomb on the Khetanna in order to assassinate Jabba. Prefect Eugene Talmont, who was in on this scheme, promised to clear Ree-Yees's criminal record, which would allow him to return to Kinyen.
Ree-Yees then had Imperial surgeons place a small panel under Bubo's flesh, which the Gran operative could use to order in components for a thermal detonator (hidden inside shipments of goatgrass) which he and Tessek planned to use to destroy Jabba's sail barge. However, when the last and most vital component, the detonator, went missing, the plan seemed to be doomed. Bubo, angry at his mistreatment at the hands of Ree-Yees, had eaten it, thus ensuring Tessek's plot would fail. Tessek, however, planted another thermal detonator on the barge.
Ree-Yees didn't let his disappointment stop him making a few bets with his companions when the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker was thrown to the rancor's pit after he had enraged Jabba. Much to everyone's surprise, Skywalker killed the beast. Ree-Yees was at Carkoon onboard Jabba's sail barge when Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca were to be fed to the sarlacc. When Princess Leia Organa was strangling Jabba, the Hutt triggered the hypnotic trigger to make Ree-Yees grab Leia and self-destruct. However, Jabba died before he could complete the sequence. Ree-Yees was then killed in the explosion of the sail barge.
Ree-Yees's name is a play on the words "three eyes."[3]
In Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, any Gran enemy is referred to as Ree-Yees. In Jedi Outcast, the Gran were appropriately named. In the games, thermal detonators were their primary weapon.
A Ree-Yees action figure was released by Kenner in 1983, and another Ree-Yees came out in 1998 as part of the Power of the Force 2 line.

Ree-Yees is one of Jabba the Hutt's henchmen and can be found in the entrance hall of his palace. He's also involved in Jabba's Theme Park.
Ree-Yees was the name of a belligerent three-eyed, goat-faced alien in Jabba the Hutt's court. The pale-skinned Gran was a drunken spicer who often got into vociferous arguments with bigger aliens. Ree-Yees was aboard Jabba the Hutt's sail barge during the last trip to the Great Pit of Carkoon. He presumably perished in the explosion that engulfed the Hutt's pleasure craft.
The Gran are a communal species who laud such concepts as family and friendship. Sociopathic behavior is not tolerated at all in Gran culture, and criminals are looked upon as insane deviants to be cast out of society. Ironically, this only serves to further madden the outcast Gran.
Ree-Yees was a convicted murderer on the Gran homeworld of Kinyen, and was ostracized by Gran society. Ree-Yees tried to drown his sorrows in Sullustan gin, and became a credit-ante thief, swindler and all-around malcontent. It was only natural that he made his way to Jabba's palace.
Though Ree-Yees was stupid, there were always stupider marks to hustle at Jabba's, cretins like Ortugg the Gamorrean and Barada the Klatooinian. Ree-Yees found some purpose tending to the warty frog-dog named Bubo, the toothy creature that announced newcomers to Jabba's throne room with a throaty bark.
Ree-Yees was secretly plotting to kill Jabba the Hutt for the Empire. Using a transmitter secreted among the flaps of Bubo's skin, Ree-Yees maintained contact with elusive Imperial benefactors. If he was able to kill the Hutt, the Imperials would wipe out his murder record in return, allowing Ree-Yees to go home. The three-eyed bully never accomplished his mission, nor did he ever see goatgrass plains of Kinyen again. He died in the fire that consumed Jabba's sail barge.
