The Rebellion in Theed occurred during the Invasion of Naboo, shortly after the Naboo-conquering Trade Federation falsely declared to the captured inhabitants of the capital, that their Queen, Amidala, was dead.

Several angered citizens wanted revenge on the Trade Federation for the supposed murder of their queen. Many more decided with their ruler killed, the civilians either had to acquire freedom through their own means or otherwise be imprisoned in Theed indefinitely.

Numerous citizens along with rebellious Security Forces, secretly plotted to take up arms against the Federation's occupying Droid Army. These freedom fighters hatched a rebellion to take back their city.

The revolt's leaders remained anonymous and the first attacks sprouted up in a district just north of the Theed downtown area. Several Federation battle droid squads were exterminated before Federation officials learned of the riot.

Immediately, Armored Assault Tanks arrived in the wide streets and archways where the violent protest was taking place, blasting entire groups of freedom fighters. With the appearance of these battle tanks, the rebellion quickly died away and survivors scattered within Theed.

Two of the survivors, Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes and Captain Kael escaped the city and headed into the swamps, soon after the rebellion was put down.

Later, another revolt was planned but its supporters would instead join forces with the Queen's protectors, when she returned from her absence in order to finally liberate Naboo.
