A ray shield generator was used by the Separatists in the Battle of Coruscant and the Trade Federation in the Battle of Naboo as hangar air locks.

They were also used to catch unsuspecting spies on capital ships like the Invisible Hand.

A ray shield also shielded the thermal exhaust port on the first Death Star.
