Quick Reads is a sub-series of the BBC Books line of original Doctor Who novels, published at the rate of one per year.

The Quick Reads books were launched in 2006 as an effort by BBC Books, in conjunction with other partners, to promote reading. Although the cover design is the same as that of the full-length Doctor Who novels that have been published since 2005, the Quick Reads differ in that they are exclusively published in paperback at a lower cover price than the hardcovers, and they have a much lower page count, which puts them into the category of novellas (even though in some cases the page count actually exceeds that of many Target novelisations, which are considered novels).

All of the Quick Reads releases to date have fallen under the BBC New Series Adventures line it has yet to be announced whether the series will continue if/when the Eleventh Doctor novels are published. A 2010 release has been announced, but it will be a Tenth Doctor novella, so the earliest an Eleventh Doctor Quick Reads can be expected is in 2011.

The 2007 release, Made of Steel was notable for being the first piece of original fiction based upon the revived franchise to be written by Terrance Dicks, a script editor and writer for the original TV series and a prolific writer of Doctor Who fiction and novelisations since the 1970s.
