Quasar is a type of Lore in Final Fantasy VI that deals non-elemental, unblockable, sometimes Defense-ignoring damage, costing 50 MP to cast. It is the second strongest Lore that can be learned in the game, though extremely late.

Strago can learn Quasar from Goddess, Fiend, or Gilgamesh in the Advance release.

Quasar was a male Human who served as the captain of a civilian pleasure cruiser. On one voyage near the Merson asteroid field, hostile Merson pirates were spotted nearby and he realized the situation was very serious. Not being experienced in military matters, he called for Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was a passenger aboard the cruiser, to help him handle the situation.

Quasar is a Mini-Con from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

A member of the Hellflame Mini-Cons, Quasar enforces the rule of the mighty Scourge with his projectile-weapon attacks, a rare ability among the citizenry of the Jungle Planet.

A redeco of the Armada Emergency Mini-Con Team member Prowl, Quasar transforms into both a Cybertronic police car and a pistol that can be held by most larger Unicron Trilogy toys. He was only availale at Japanese Ito Yokaido stores in March of 2005 with the purchase of any Transformers Galaxy Force (the Japanse name for Cyberton) toy.
An all-white version of the Team was also released in March as a Jusco store exclusive; white Quasar was available with the purchase of the Leader-class Optimus Prime.
The same mold is used by Checkpoint, Groove and Kingbolt.
