A quartermaster provides supplies to people aboard a starship, starbase or other outpost within their same organization.

22nd century Earth Starfleet and non-Starfleet vessels carried a quartermaster aboard. The responsibility of the quartermaster on these ships was to ensure the ship's supplies were allocated appropriately and restocked when needed. Ration packs were one of the supplies the quartermaster was responsible for aboard Starfleet vessels. (ENT: "Civilization", "Fortunate Son", "Countdown")

Aboard 24th century Federation Starfleet ships, the operations manager usually undertook the quartermaster's duties, whilst on stations, the chief of operations was responsible for the quartermaster's duties.

A quartermaster's subordinates were supply clerks. (Star Trek: Remington)

Introduction

quar·ter·mas·ter (n) An officer responsible for the food, clothing, and equipment of troops.

Overview

Quartermasters in the game function, much as the definition of the word would denote, as store contacts. They buy enhancements, salvage, and recipes, as well as vend certain enhancements. There are a few different types.

Arachnos Quartermasters

Arachnos Quartermasters bear a striking similarity in uniform to those of the Arbiters.

Hired by Arachnos and almost exclusively seen in the Rogue Isles, these are the most predominate type of store for villain players, mirrorring the heroes' origin store contacts such as Serafina, and the late-game contact Ghost Falcon. Unlike those contacts, Quartermasters do not ask villain players to complete a task before they will buy and sell.

They are named based on what enhancements they sell;generic quartermasters sell Training Enhancements any quartermaster with an origin in its name sells that origin's Dual-Origin and Single-Origin Enhancements, and any quartermaster elites sell all origins' Single Origin Enhancements.

Vanguard Quatermaster

The Vanguard Quartermaster, found within the Vanguard Base in the Rikti War Zone, functions much the same as Arachnos' Elite Quartermasters, selling level 35, 40, 45, and 50 Single-Origin Enhancements to both heroes and villains. One is located next to The Lady Grey, while the other can be found near the shooting range.
