Quan's Dwelling is a location in Final Fantasy IX, located near the city of Treno. It is a cave, filled with natural gas fissures and a hot spring. It can be first visited by the player at the start of Disc 2.
Vivi was raised here after being found by Quan, and there are height measure markings on the wall, the last of which reads "Vivi at six weeks. Still too small to eat.". After Quan's death, Vivi left for Alexandria. He later returned to the cave when the party visited Treno during the Card Game Tournament, although this is purely optional. If Vivi stays in the city, the second round opponent will change, and the player has another chance to win a rare Namingway Card.
If Quina and Vivi are in your party and you visit Quan's Dwelling after obtaining the Hilda Garde III, a cutscene will play where Quina sees a gigantic pile of food on the stone table in the middle of the room. S/he begins eating the food, however Zidane, standing well out of the way of Quina's frenzy, does not see anything there. After asking Quina what s/he is eating, Quina notices that there isn't really any food on the table at all. Then, smelling something, Quina runs outside where s/he sees Quan. After some dialogue, Quale (who was nearby for unknown reasons) and Vivi enter. Vivi is excited to see his grandpa again, while it is revealed that Quan is really Quale's master. Quan says that a gourmand is more than just somebody who eats everything, and is really nothing without an imagination, telling Quale s/he has much to learn still, while Quina is on the right track. Quan then disappears, and Zidane reveals that he, once again, saw nothing. Afterwards, the player can look into the clock to recieve a pair of Running Shoes.
Quan's Dwelling also holds the Stellazio Coin Scorpio, and after giving all twelve coins to Queen Stella, the Ophiucus coin will reappear in the same spot. If Quan's Dwelling is visited when the player is in control of a blue or gold Chocobo and some Dead Pepper, then the Chocobo will dive off the ledge, obtaining a chest which is otherwise impossible to find, which hold the Tiger Racket, the most powerful weapon for either Dagger or Eiko. Near the point where the Stellazio is found, there is a spring which fully restores the HP and MP of the active party.
