Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) was a Russian composer who wrote music during the Romantic era. Besides composing many symphonies and operas, he created the music for the ballet versions of Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker.
His "1812 Overture" has been featured several times in Muppet productions.
