The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon.

Puffer is a trap found in Fallout Tactics.

Description: Low tech tribal weapon made from a fungus. It realeases a cloud of toxic spores when compressed.

Location

  • It is found early in the game and is most commonly used by Beastlords.

Notes

  • The Puffer functions exactly the same as one of the other land mines. You don't need to use it on an object, it can be set anywhere.
  • This trap, as expected, has very little effect against Robots.

A player wearing the Puffer.

The Puffer is an quest item used in the quest Hunt for Red Raktuber. It is used to pump air to increase the pressure in the engine box. Wearing the Puffer may also be a requirement to use the conch shell to signal the penguin submarine to surface.

The Puffer can be worn on the head after completing the quest. It is only used for appearance and as a sign that the player has completed the quest as it has no bonuses. It is acquired at the same time as the three other headgears (Ray, Octopus and Monkfish) from the quest.

The fish hats are the only items that can be worn as a penguin as a forum avatar in the RuneScape Forums.
