Professor was a title given and used by a variety of people throughout history, usually (though not limited to) peoples of university educated pedigree.
Ace referred to the Doctor as Professor throughout her early association with him (DW: Dragonfire et al) and often continued to refer to him as 'Professor' in a friendly manner several years later. (NA: Happy Endings) Allthough somtimes this irritated the doctor he grew used to it

The Professor is a scientist with an insane gleam in his eye living in the town of Broken Hills. His real name is unknown, as he is only known to others as the Professor.
He somehow managed to create an intelligent spore plant called Seymour and an intelligent radscorpion. He also claims to have helped develop a method for easy mass-production of the Mentats drug.
The professor can be used to receive 1500 exp. total by talking to him and taking three different tests that give you 500 exp. each for tying with the radscorpion. It appears to be impossible to win any but the Intelligence test, the chess game, regardless of stats. You can only win the chess game by learning the Flying Liver Attack from Seymour after doing him a favor. The other two test your Perception and Agility.
