The Poison Waste is a large, inaccessible, marshy area of Tirannwn, south of Isafdar. It is located on the western coast of Gielinor, and also has a southern coast.

The only way to access the Poison Waste is by using a fairy ring (code D-L-R), which will teleport players to a small island in the swamp (indicated by the travel icon on the map). This island has no important features and there is no purpose to travel there for any reasons other than to unlock Exposed, the piece of in-game music unlocked by players who have travelled to the Poison Waste, or to cast the High Alchemy spell repeatedly in an undisturbed, remote location. This practice is fairly commonplace, as many players find alchemy, as with all grinding, easier to concentrate on in a peaceful environment free of distractions, although the Poison Waste is a seldom-chosen destination.

It is revealed in The Path of Glouphrie that the poison waste originates from Arposandra, who made poisonous chemicals with their experiments and just dumped the waste to the surface.

The area's only significant use to date is the collection of sulphur on its mucky shores. The sulphur is used during the Regicide quest. However, there are several other places where players can collect sulfur.
