A pipe organ was a musical instrument that produced sound by driving air through a range of differently-pitched pipes selected by use of a keyboard.

The pipe organ was developed by multiple cultures, including that of Rod Portlyn, in which a pipe organ was played in the house of worship his parents attended. (CoE eBook: The Art of the Comeback)

The Count and his pipe organ

The Pipe Organ belongs to Count von Count on Sesame Street. Though it has long been a featured prop and significant part of the Count's castle, in recent seasons, the pipe organ became a character, joining the Count in the "Number of the Day" segments, as each individual pipe would open its eyes and sing according to its number.

Among the performers of the pipes are Fran Brill, John Tartaglia, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Martin P. Robinson, David Rudman, and Joey Mazzarino.
