The Pineapple tree is a native of the island of Karamja, near Brimhaven and south of the Player-owned house portal, or may be grown with the Farming skill.
At level 51 farming, players may plant a Pineapple seed in a plant pot that has been filled with dirt from any empty gardening patch. A gardening trowel is needed to plant the seed, then it must be watered. This action is all performed in the inventory or backpack section of the screen.
After 15 minutes or less, the planted seed will become a pineapple tree sapling and can then be transferred to a Fruit tree patch. The fruit tree patch must be raked clean of weeds. Compost or Super Compost may be added prior to planting, and once planted (using a spade and trowel), the nearby farmer may be paid to watch over your tree. Payment is 10 watermelons and optionally may be noted to save you space.
A pineapple tree sapling may take fourteen or more hours to mature. An Amulet of nature may be bound to the patch to provide progress on its growth. Once mature, the tree produces up to six pineapples at a time.
Planting the pineapple tree sapling gives 57 Farming experience. A healthy pineapple tree, when checked, provides 4,605 Farming experience. If the farmer does not watch the tree, then disease on the tree may be removed using secateurs. However, if left alone, the diseased tree will die.
Each pineapple, when picked from a tree in a fruit tree patch, gives 21.5 farming experience. Once all 6 pineapples have been picked, the tree will slowly produce more pineapples until all 6 are available again. However, the pineapples may be picked anytime they show on the tree.
The data in this table is based on the Grand Exchange prices of a Pineapple seed and Pineapple, assuming one seed is processed to 6 pineapples and a gardener is paid with 10 watermelons to keep the patch disease free.
