A sweet or savory dish made with a crust and filling (such as fruit, pudding, meat or vegetable). Pies can have bottom crusts only, or top and bottom crusts or, as with Deep-Dish pies, only a top crust. Sweet pies are generally served as dessert and savory pies as the main course or appetizer. Crusts can be made of a variety of mixtures including short crust pastry, Puff Pastry, cookie crumbs, Meringue and even, as with Shepherd's Pie, mashed potatoes.

A pie

A Pie is any one of several food items that players can make with the Cooking skill. They all take two bites to eat; it used to be three bites, but this changed, and all parts of pies were either deleted or changed to half a pie. After both bites of the pie have been eaten, a pie dish remains. This dish can be used to make another pie.

Pies heal from 5 (for redberry pies) to 11 (for summer pies) hitpoints per bite, and are made with pastry dough and a pie dish, plus other ingredients for the filling. Some pies are members-only, whereas others can also be made by non-members. One interesting note about pies is that players can eat one slice of pie after another in quick succession.

Players with level 65 magic and who have completed Lunar Diplomacy can use the spell Bake Pie, which cooks pies with a 100% success rate. It must be cast one pie at a time. Although uncommon, this spell can yield quick yet expensive cooking XP.

Due to the quick exp of cooking pies, players (including nonmembers) can make up to 500k an hour by putting together uncooked pies (if they have all the ingredients).

"Look what we've been picking. We can make a pie."
Cindel Towani, to Noa Briqualon

Pie was a general term for a variety of foodstuffs.

Pie was normally a disc-shaped baked good, which could be classed as a main course or a dessert based on its content.

In 1 ABY, a spacer on Tatooine embarked on a quest to kill a number of Tusken Raiders after they stole his pie. This type of pie was not explicitly named, but strongly resembled a food called air cake.[1]

Ewoks were known to partake of several different types of pie.[2][3][4]

Super Star Destroyers were sometimes referred to as "pie-shaped."[5]

Throughout the galaxy, there were many different types of pie:
