Rise of the Empire era

Peppi Bow was a female Gungan shaak herder who was among the first to discover the Blue Shadow Virus when her shaaks died after drinking infected water.

Peppi reported on behalf of the Gungans with Rugor Nass to Queen Neeyutnee when her shaaks were very agitated, and mentioned the last time they had been like this was shortly before the Invasion of Naboo. Following her report, Captain Gregar Typho took a squad out to investigate, and found a few B1 battle droids and a tactical droid on STAPs.

Some time later, Peppi was herding her shaaks to drink from the river, when after drinking the water, they started to fall over, unconscious. Realizing that something was wrong with the water, Peppi quickly herded the rest of the shaaks away from the river. Later, she attacked Senator Padmé Amidala and Jar Jar Binks, thinking they were enemies, when they came to investigate the appearance of the battle droids. Padmé drew her blaster on Peppi, who stopped attacking Jar Jar with her electropole. She told Padmé and Jar Jar that the virus was in the water, not the air, so the two could take off the helmets of their enviro-suits. Peppi offered to accompany the two to the source of the river, which would lead to the source of the virus, but Padmé declined, and instead sent a clone transport to escort her back to Theed.

Typho introduces Peppi Bow to the Jedi.

Peppi brought the news back to Theed, and helped Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano locate the base when Ahsoka arrived as part of a team sent to investigate Naboo. Although Peppi reluctantly stayed behind instead of helping Ahsoka, General Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Anakin Skywalker in deactivating the virus bombs, Peppi was able to sneak up behind Dr. Nuvo Vindi when the doctor attempted to escape. She hit him multiple times with her electropole, and Skywalker was able to catch a virus capsule dropped by Vindi that would have otherwise doomed all of the galaxy, had it been allowed to release its deadly contents.
