Patterson was Sir Keith Gold's chauffeur. Professor Stahlman ordered him to delay Gold's return trip from the ministry. Gold figured out what Patterson was doing and had him get back on the route to the project, but the car crashed soon afterwards. (DW: Inferno)

It is unclear if Patterson survived the crash or not, although Gold did.

Theoderich Patterson was a Starfleet officer who worked at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards his entire career, starting when he graduated from Starfleet Academy.

By the 2360s, Patterson had achieved the rank of admiral and was in charge of Utopia Planitia. In that capacity, he hosted up the commissioning ceremony of the USS Enterprise-D in 2363, giving a speech and assisting Captain Thomas Halloway in giving Admiral Norah Satie, Admiral Gregory Quinn, and Lady Svaath Magodin a tour of the ship. Patterson was very enthusiastic about the new Enterprise, considering it to "lead the way in expanding our knowledge and understanding of the universe and -- most important -- ourselves". (TNG short story: "Meet with Triumph and Disaster")

Patterson also taught classes at the Academy; he was Kathryn Janeway's professor for calculus, becoming Janeway's mentor. He was still in charge of Utopia Planitia in 2371 when the USS Voyager was built; he escorted Janeway onto Voyager for the first time. (VOY episode: "Relativity")

From The Vault

Mentioned-only character
race: Human
affiliation: U.S. Army
role: Soldier (either Colonel or Lieutenant)
mentioned in: Fallout 3 (Operation: Anchorage add-on)
quests: Paving the Way

Patterson is an American soldier who is mentioned in Fallout 3's Operation: Anchorage add-on. He dies shortly before the player arrives at the U.S. Army Field Headquarters and is never met in person.

The player takes over his team and his mission in the quests Paving the Way and Operation Anchorage.

  • There is some inconsistency regarding his rank: General Chase refers to him as "Colonel Patterson" whereas his own terminal greets him as "Lieutenant Patterson". This may be due to a field promotion, or multiple field promotions, as traditionally Colonel is a higher rank by several pay grades. Therefore, the computer has not been updated since his arrival at Anchorage. Such a change wouldn't be unexpected as the large losses sustained by American forces would cause a shortage of good officers, with commanders promoting on the spot to fill ranks. It is also possible that Patterson was promoted posthumously after being killed in action. Therefore, General Chase would refer to him by his new rank out of respect, but his terminal would likely not have been updated yet.

Patterson is mentioned by General Chase and Lieutenant Morgan in the Operation: Anchorage add-on for Fallout 3, during the Anchorage Reclamation simulation. He does not actually appear in the add-on.
