From Marvel Database

Phoenix was one of the original X-Men along with Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, and Angel. She was once known as Marvel Girl. Since the space incident, she is know as the only known main host of The Phoenix Force, which the Phoenix Force itself thinks that Jean is its "host, body, and self." She possesses telepathic and telekinetic power, but since Phoenix Force ultimately merged within her body, she can now control matter on molecular scale, cosmic pyrokinesis, and even can bring life to the deaths.
