The different overgrown cats.
An overgrown cat gets irritated (by a player not wearing the catspeak amulet).

An Overgrown cat is a larger version of a cat that will no longer chase rats. It requires no care.[1]

After 4 hours, a cat will grow into an overgrown cat. These cats no longer need players' attention, but will no longer hunt rats. When players talk to them using the catspeak amulet, they appear to be irritable.

After completing the Rat Catchers quest, players can talk to Felkrash in the Rat Pits in Port Sarim to turn an overgrown cat into a wily cat as well as giving it a name.[2]

Overgrown cats are the only type of cat that a player can have multiples of, unlike kittens, cats, hellcats, wily and lazy cats.

Players can buy another kitten from Gertrude whilst having an overgrown cat, but they can only have one cat out at a time. Overgrown cats of the same colour will stack in the bank.

Players can go to West Ardougne at the north-west corner and sell their cat to any civilian.[3] He will say he needs a cat, but can only pay with death runes. Players can swap their overgrown cat for 100 death runes (or 200 death runes while wearing the Ardougne Cloak 1 or above), or they can keep it and have the pride of having a fully-grown cat.

Purple overgrown cat

To obtain a purple cat, you need to have completed Swept Away. Then, talk to Wendy to start the subquest to obtain Magic unguent. After that, you can take a kitten to Wendy to make it purple. You must have the kitten in your inventory and use the cat with her. If a Hellcat is put up for the colour change, it will revert to a normal cat.
