
Oliver Ford Davies (b. 1939) is an actor who played Dr. Newman in Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story.
A noted stage veteran and a former member of The Royal SHakespeare Company, Davies is perhaps most familiar to US audiences from his portrayal of Governor Sio Bibble in all three Star Wars prequels. Other film credits include the 1995 Sense and Sensibility (as Dr. Harris), Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Dalloway, Just Visiting, and Johnny English (as the Archbishop of Canterbury). In television, he appeared regularly on the courtroom drama Kavanagh QC (as Peter Foxcott) and has guest starred on Father Brown, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Poirot (as Dr. Shephard in "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd"), Inspector Morse, and Foyle's War.
Oliver Ford Davies (born August 12, 1939) played Governor Sio Bibble in The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. He appeared alongside Ewan McGregor in an episode of the crime drama Kavanagh QC in 1995.
Oliver Ford Davies also worked with George Lucas on Lucas's 1992 television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, in which he was credited as "Ship's Captain" in the pilot movie Young Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Jackal.
