Okinawa is an island in the Pacific Ocean on Earth, a territory of the nation of Japan. The island was the site of the Battle of Okinawa, the largest sea-land-air battle in history, and the last major battle of World War II. Several Federation starships were named in honor of the fallen in the Battle of Okinawa. See: USS Okinawa.
