Publisher's Summary

On the human colony planet Nocturne, there is suffering and blight, tragic symptoms of an ages-old war. Never the less, Nocturne is also one of the Doctor's favourite places in all of time and space, because it is here that a late, great flowering of human art - the High Renaissance - is taking place.

He has been back here, many times. It is a place of music and art which he finds inspirational and uplifting. It is a place he wants to share with Ace and Hex. It's always been a safe haven for him, a world of friends and laughter.

But with strict Martial Law imposed on the front-line city, and the brutal scourge of interstellar warfare vicing the system, how safe can anyone really be?

There is a note of death in the wild, midnight wind...

A Nocturne is a form of musical expression inspired by or used to evoke characteristics of the night. Hence its etymology in the term which is from the French language, meaning "nocturnal." When used in popular reference, possibly as "The Nocturne," the term is almost exclusively reserved for that of Chopin's, Opus 15 No. 2 in F sharp major.

In episode 309 of The Muppet Show, an entire portion of the show is dedicated to a concert by Liberace for the Birds on the show. One of the pieces he plays is "Nocturne No. 5 in F-sharp Major (Op. 15, no. 2)" by Chopin, which he figured would please Sam the Eagle; it even garnered cheers from Statler and Waldorf.

Darth Nocturne was a duelist, scientist, and a Sith alchemist and sorcerer.

Biography

An amoral sociopath, Nocturne was born Drakken Solari on Centauri Prime to a house of minor nobles. As a young man, he was bartered to a rival family where he suffered degradation and abuse. It was there that he came in contact with a witch named Auguri and was told his dark destiny. In the prophetic words, she said, "Only a God can kill a God." He eventually overcame these obstacles and managed to take over both families. He then set about the irradiation of all the the Godlines. (Line of blood that were descended from the gods of myth and legend). The blood hunt he thought ended with the decapitation of Auguri.

At the peak of his, he met an enslaved woman. He was set on a few evenings of "enjoyment" of her when she turned the tables. She would later become Stargrave, his rival and Master. Nocturne, then, after many years encountered his most steadfast enemy. Cyran Oghma the Jedi poet. After killing Oghma's true love Mirana and Oghma's master Sekara Starfall, Nocturne spent years using and possessing clones of the warrior poet. His obsession with Oghma led to many battles and stratagems against him, including the creation of the Azure Dragon and her rival Crimson Phoenix. The manipulation of his apprentice Omus Cinder, who later became Darth Pyre. The wars of Thrace. Nocturne had acquired many servants, slaves, and apprentices over his existence and believed he cannot be killed.

Powers and Abilities

He possessed the standard Sith powers along with:

  • Sith Alchemy
  • Sorcery
  • Science
  • Spirit transference
  • Dreaming- the ability to shape alter and enter the Dreamscape
  • Sorrow Feed - Nocturne can feed on the sorrow of his victims, extending his life, granting him health and regenerative capabilities

Overview

Night Widow Nocturne is an Archvillain of the Arachnos faction. Nocturne seems to be the best and deadliest of the Night Widows deployed by the organization.

Heroes may face her:

  • in the mission Stop Nocturne and get the tape from Jim Temblor.
  • in the mission Draw out Nocturne mission from Agent G (where she shows up as Nightwidow Nocturne)
  • in the mission Destroy the PsychoChronoMetron! from Agent G

Description

The Night Widows serve Arachnos as elite assassins and spies. It is whispered among their murderous ranks that a Night Widow code-named Nocturne may be the deadliest operative Arachnos has ever produced. No living soul knows any details of her history, just rumors of her ruthlessness and tales of her many victims. Some suspect that her only weakness might be her arrogant pride, but none have survived to exploit it.
