Nick Tate is an Australian actor and voice-over announcer who starred as astronaut Alan Carter on the science-fiction TV series Space: 1999 (with Martin Landau). Tate guest starred on Farscape as Earth broadcaster R. Wilson Monroe in the fourth season episode "A Constellation of Doubt."

Tate's other television work includes guest spots in two different Star Trek spin-offs, as Dirgo in the The Next Generation episode "Final Mission" and Bilby in the Deep Space Nine episode "Honor Among Thieves." Still other credits include guest spots on the 1960s Sherlock Holmes series, Night Court, The X-Files, Party of Five, Matlock, and JAG. Most recently, Tate appeared in the first season Lost episode "Tabula Rasa," as Australian farmer Ray Mullen, who turns Kate in.

Nick Tate, born in Sydney on June 18, 1942, is an actor, and is the voice actor who played Prince Xizor and IG-88 in Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.

Tate got his start as an actor in 1965 in the TV series My Brother Jack, and went on to star in several roles, being best known as astronaut Alan Carter from "Space 1999". He has also had guest appearances on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and The X-Files and Lost.

Playing Xizor and IG-88 was Tate's first role as a voice actor in a video game, but not his last; he played "Ozzie Mandrill" in Escape from Monkey Island four years later. His most recent role is as a surgeon in The Gene Generation.
