The New Republic Security Force or NRSF was the New Republic agency charged with law enforcement and counter-insurgency operations.
One of the earliest New Republic government organs created after the liberation of Coruscant, NRSF was created by General Airen Cracken to replace the Imperial Sector Rangers. In particular, it was hoped that NRSF could end the activities of the Palpatine Counter-Insurgency Front. At the time of its formation, Cracken and his staff were simlutaneously overseeing the trial of Tycho Celchu, handling the Coruscanti woes caused by Kirtan Loor and his operatives, preparing for the transition from the Alliance Intelligence to New Republic Intelligence, and providing intelligence services against Warlord Zsinj and Ysanne Isard. As such, provisional authority was granted to Fliry Vorru to administer law in the Coruscant underworld until NRSF was fully operational.
It is unclear if Cracken's role in the formation of NRSF means that it operated within NRI, but its name was likely influenced by the Republic Security Force and the Coruscant Security Force.
