Nebraska is a state located on the Great Plains of the Midwestern United States and Western United States. The state's capital is Lincoln and its largest city is Omaha.
Nebraska is famous for two small, yet important suburban towns: Waymore and Blue Valley. Waymore, Nebraska was the home town of Ralph Dibny, the stretchable sleuth known as the Elongated Man. Upon discovering his pliant powers though, Dibny spent very little time in Nebraska, preferring instead to travel the country solving mysteries with his paramour and future wife, Sue Dibny. He would at times return to Waymore for the occasional family reunion or surprise mystery game birthday party.
The town of Blue Valley has earned a slightly more infamous reputation than Waymore, for it boast not one, but two teen super-heroes. Blue Valley is the home town of Wally West, one of the world's first teen sidekicks, and the first hero to assume the name Kid Flash. Although Kid Flash was usually seen at the side of his mentor, the Flash Barry Allen in Central City, his super-speed powers made it easy for Wally to zoom back and forth between cities. Wally attended school at Blue Valley High School.
The other super-hero who made sparks in Blue Valley was Courtney Whitmore, the second Star-Spangled Kid. Courntey moved to Nebraska from Beverly Hills along with her mother Barbara, stepfather Pat Dugan and stepbrother Mike. A true-blue "California Girl", Courtney at first hated living in Nebraska, but she soon came to enjoy living the "quiet life" and found that Blue Valley was not without its fair share of adventures.
A short while after the "Infinite Crisis" event, the time traveling heroes, Val Armorr and Una arrived in this century and began traveling across Nebraska in search of a cure to the Morticoccus Virus that was slowly killing Val. They arrived at the site of a decommissioned Air Force base whereupon they encountered a cybernetic monstrosity known as Equus. Equss began fighting these time-lost Legionnaires while Equus' master, Elias Orr, monitored the progress of the battle from inside the safety of his secret bunker. [1] Val and Una found assistance in the form of Supergirl who swapped blows with Equus, carrying their fight over to the Nebraska/Colorado border. [2]
