Mystic staves are combined melee and magical weapons which can be used in combat and in spell casting. Their strongest style of melee attack is crushing, although they also confer defensive bonuses. To obtain a mystic staff, take an elemental battlestaff to Thormac, the person you talk to begin Scorpion Catcher and 40,000 coins and he will turn it into a Mystic staff. If you are wearing the Seer's headband 3 from the Seers village Achievement diary the cost is reduced to 27,000 coins.

On top of their melee capabilities, Mystic staves allowed the wielder to autocast spells and also provide an unlimited supply of runes according to their name (i.e. a Mystic fire staff replaces the need for fire runes when it is equipped) although most people use normal staffs, though these staves provide better bonus and double types of runes, for part of the mystic staff series. There are no Mystic Mist, Dust or Smoke staves, purposed to prevent market crash, because if these staves exist, no elemental runes would be needed to cast most of combat spells, and also some very important spells like Charge.

Mystic staves require level 40 attack and magic to wield.
