Myra Booth (née Dickinson) married Jerry Booth on the 19th October 1963. Dennis Tanner was the reluctant best-man, making a speech full of show business references.

During their courtship Myra was the more dominant of the two, almost pushing Jerry into the marriage.

She was a typist by profession and was briefly employed at Gamma Garments. The newlyweds moved into 13 Coronation Street before finding that they were unable to afford the mortgage repayments. When Myra became pregnant the couple moved to live with Myra's father who paid off their debts.

The marriage broke up when the Booth infant was stillborn. Before that strain had been put on the marriage when Myra, who had control of the finances ran up debt with their neighbours after overspending on hire purchase.
