Monopoly Star Wars Edition was released by Hasbro Interactive with the authorization of LucasArts as a game for the PC in 1997. A Special Edition of the game was released simultaneously, featuring a pewter figure of Anakin Skywalker as seen in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, along with one credit each from Alderaan, Bespin, and Ord Mantell.
Each space on the virtual playing board features a unique video clip from the original trilogy, presented when a player lands on a space. Players can choose to purchase, auction, or trade property cards if they land on property spaces. A player acquiring a monopoly—all cards of a set of properties—may choose to build colonies or starports on the properties.
