From Dofus

Admins (administrators) are people working for Ankama corp, as developers or game administrators. Mods (moderators) are typically volunteers helping out. GMs (game masters or MJ for the french Game Masters) can be either, the term refers to someone with special powers in the game. Not all admins and mods have GM powers, some only concern themselves with forums or internal work.

GM powers include the ability to kick people from the game, disconnect merchants, teleport between maps, change form and abilities, and more. Different GMs have different access levels, so don't expect a random mod to be able to ban people. Not that they would do so on request, anyway.

Non-admin GMs often have special account names in the form of MOD# or GM# (or MJ#), to separate their personal accounts from their "work accounts". The # is a roman numeral, in the range 1-28 for MOD, 1-2 for GM and 1-20 for MJ. For example, Eoghammer's account name is GMII. (Note: You need to put an asterisk (*) in front of their GM account names to contact them. Ex: "/w *GMII hello.")

There are extremely few (approx. 2) active GMs and 3 active MODs on Rushu (MODXXVI, MODXXVII, MODXXVIII). The suggested method of contacting a GM/MOD is through the official Dofus IRC channel or via a ticket.

In order to be sure that the people that say he have a special rank, type : /whois Name and you will get a message with the account name and for those who have a rank there will be a red part with their rank.

List of known GMs

Admins are actual employees of Ankama. Their powers in-game are basically limitless, but they are almost never seen. They handle all internal Ankama issues, including game development, subscription issues, and long-term banishment from the game. The easiest way to get in touch with one is via Ankama Support rather than in-game or the forums.

Game Masters

Not to be confused with Moderators, Gamemasters run events and handle roleplay aspects rather than rule-enforcing. To this end they have a wider variety of powers than Moderators (though they can also perform moderator functions if a player is disrupting events).

When met in-game, they will quite frequently be playing a character, and will only answer questions or reply to statements as that character.

A /whois of their in-game names will reveal a white "GM" indicator.

This list is primarily of English-speaking Gamemasters. There are also many French, Spanish, and German GMs not on this list.

Another Shika-only GM, somewhat more active than Kurtulmak. Occasionally spotted on Rosal (Krysis Gore).
[GM]Nistol (GM Padawan)
A very new GM, appearing late 2008 or early 2009. Seen on Rosal.

Active mods

Mods (short for Moderators) handle forum and in-game issues related to the rules. On the forums, their powers include editing posts, closing topics, moving topics, and deleting posts or topics. In-game moderators' abilities include muting (individuals or entire maps), teleporting themselves and others around, kicking, and short-term banning of players. (Long-term bans are handled by Admins, above).

They can be recognized in-game by their lion skins. A /whois of their in-game account will be marked with a red "Modo" label.

These are mostly English-language Moderators. There are many more Moderators on the French, Spanish, and German servers.

From Grand Theft Wiki

Staff (Moderators, Administrators and Managers) are users on Grand Theft Wiki with the responsibility to keep the wiki running smoothly. The main job of all Staff is to help users, so don't hesitate to ask a member of Staff if you have any problems or questions.

Certain Staff also have various rights, administrative tools and authority over the wiki. There are three levels of Staff on Grand Theft Wiki. No users other than the ones mentioned here have any administrative privileges or decision-making authority.

Moderators are users on Grand Theft Wiki who have been trusted with additional tools to keep the Wiki clean. Moderators are trusted helpers, rather than having "power" or "authority" over other users. Moderators are always experienced editors, so should be able to help you if you have any questions.
Moderator Rights:
  • Rollback edits (quick revert)
  • Move pages
  • Patrol other users edits
  • Set own edits to automatically-patrolled
  • Protect talk pages

Administrators (Admins or SysOps) are members of Staff with tools and authority to solve disputes and keep the wiki running smoothly. Administrators are still just editors of the wiki, and the main part of their job is the help other users; but they enforce the policy of Grand Theft Wiki, and occasionally need to step in and use their additional tools to solve problems.

Wikia Staff

There are also Wikia Staff, VSTF and Wikia Helpers who have administrative privileges in all Wikia wikis. These users are not managed by Grand Theft Wiki, although they should still operate within GTW policy.

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This article is about users with elevated capabilities in the RuneScape game or website. For the users with extra technical capabilities on this wiki, see RuneScape:Administrators.

A Moderator (often called a Mod) is a person designated by Jagex to keep RuneScape an enjoyable place. Just about the only requirement to become a Player or Forum Moderator is that the player in question has to be noticed by Jagex as a player worthy and trustworthy of the status. To become a Jagex Moderator, someone has to work for Jagex in person, as "over the web"-styled jobs are not offered. Different types of Moderators include:

Crown Title Description
Jagex Moderator's crown Jagex Moderator These are employees and staff members of Jagex. They are sometimes referred to as J-Mods. Approximately four hundred exist.[1]
Player Moderator's crown Player Moderator These are players who assist Jagex in keeping the game free from rule-breakers. They are sometimes referred to as P-Mods. Currently, there are around four to five thousand active player moderators whose status hasn't been revoked.[2]
Forum Moderator's crown Forum Moderator These moderators are players who assist in keeping the official forums free from rule-breakers. The role of Forum Moderators have changed over the summer of 2009. They are protectors of the forums, rather than being forum police. There are over 244 Forum Moderators currently, with monthly mod batches coming in.[3].
Player Moderator's crownForum Moderator's crown Dual Moderator Next, these are players who have achieved both player and forum moderator status. Some of the Jagex moderators have given their personal account dual status. There was a time when Jagex did not give players Dual Moderator status, but now some players have received it. There are over 50 dual moderators currently. They do not have both crown symbols next to their usernames.[4]

Dual Moderators

Dual Moderators are players who have both Player Moderator and Forum Moderator status.

Several years ago, Jagex changed the policy such that a player cannot be both an in-game moderator and a forum moderator.[4] Players who had the "Dual Moderator" status before the change were grandfathered in. For a certain period, when a player became either a player or forum moderator, they could not be chosen for the other, unless they had had their moderator status revoked at some time and earned the other status later on. It is said that only few dual moderators exist although, it has been confirmed on the forums by JaGeX and by some forum mods, that there are many more than that, but they are not allowed to reveal it to normal players due to the player moderator rules. Jagex changed the policy back and new people can now be Dual moderators.[4]

Are You Community Focused

On the fifth of August, 2009 - Jagex opened up a thread called, "Are You Community Focused". This thread allowed players to post telling Jagex they are interested in becoming a RuneScape Player or Forum Moderator. The thread has been open for more than four months now, and has accumlated over 1,555 pages (14,000+ posts). This thread has been confirmed, by a Jagex Moderator, that it is a permanent sticky. Click here to head on over there now.
