The Missile Warthog, though not part of the M12 Warthog LRV series, was a unique customized vehicle owned by Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez on Reach.

Contents

Description

The Warthog's most unique feature was that the rear weapon, rather than being the regular M41 LAAG, or even the M68 Gauss Cannon, was replaced with a rack of Argent V missiles for anti-air capabilities[1].

As far as is known, the vehicle was not used during the Battle of Reach, given that Mendez was not actually present for the battle[2]. It is unknown whether he brought his Missile Warthog with him to Onyx to train the SPARTAN-III trainees.

Trivia

  • It is very doubtful that the Missile 'Hog will be like the design in Halo: Custom Edition, due to the fact that firing it may kill the gunner by the missile's afterburner.[citation needed]
  • In an early Halo 2 demonstration, there was a Warthog shown that fired rockets.
