Miranda Rivers was born in Miami, Florida. Her parents, Adam Rivers and Trina Rivers, were a diverse couple. Her father was a rich billionaire who owned a steel company, while her mother was a middle class woman who's occupation was unknown. At age 7, Miranda's mother was tragically killed and her father took sole custody of Miranda. To this day, it is believed that he killed her mother, although nothing has been proven. From there, her father raised Miranda to become a rich, spoiled brat. Her father used to give her whatever she wanted, but at the same time, he used to brainwash her and she's buy his lies. On her 18th birthday, her father told her that she could have anything she wanted. Miranda, a lifelong wrestling fan, wanted to start a wrestling career and her father reluctantly allowed her to go to a wrestling school. She graduated in six months, faster than anyone in the school's history, and she wrestled her first match on the Independent scene in January 2005. Miranda initially wanted to join the WWE, but she kept switching indy promotions because the owners wanted nothing to do with her obnoxious, "stuck up blonde" attitude. This happened for a long time before she signed with World Reality Wrestling in November 2007
Miranda made her debut in a four way elimination match at WRW Deathly Hallow in a fatal four way elimination match against Marina Valdivia, Kylie Moore and Mizz Laci and she would win that match to become the number one contender to the WRW Women's Championship. Miranda would win two more matches, but WRW would fold before she ever got her women's title shot. As a result of WRW folding, Miranda's contract was null and void and therefore, she once again became a free agent.
On December 26, 2007, Miranda signed with NSWA, or Non-Stop Wrestling Alliance. She won her NSWA debut match at Soul Survivor 2008 in a three way match against Morrigan Hel and Allison Murdock. After this, she began to team up with NSWA veteran Marcos Wilson and they began to hunt down the NSWA Tag Team Championships. However, this alliance didn't last very long as constant losses and bickering basically broke up the team. After defeating the weak team of Justin Phoenix and Eric Brooks, Marcos would turn on Miranda and join Jackal and Spirit Storm in a group called Next Generation, or NXG for short.
Soon afterwards, Miranda started to gain some momentum going on a five match win streak. This streak was snapped in March of 2008 by then-Women's Champion M.K. Paradise in a Women's title match. Despite the rough loss, Miranda would continue to prove that she was an up and comer in NSWA. In the meantime, Miranda's grudge against Spirit was beginning to grow intense with numerous backstage confrontations and run ins. One of these run ins included Miranda taking out Spirit for a short amount of time. Miranda's feud with NXG culminated at NSWA Wrestle Fest Four. Miranda would take on Spirit, Marcos Wilson, Peter Davis, Chris Stevens, Kris Destiny, Justin Phoenix and Q-ball in an eight person Top Rung Ladder match. Miranda overcame the odds and she won the match and as a result, she gained the right to challenge for any of NSWA's championships over the next year. After this, NXG dissolved and thus, Miranda is credited with ending the stable. Despite this, her feud with Spirit was far from over. Miranda would defeat Spirit in a cage match at an Ultimate Destruction taping and she was in a four-on-four elimination match at Whiplash where the winning final pinfall would win the NSWA World Championship. While Miranda was eliminated during the match, her team still came out victorious as Crazy Joker became NSWA World Champion. Crazy Joker would lead a group of wrestlers, including Spirit, and that group would be known as Dark Carnival.
