Some of Lost's mysteries may have explanation by natural or (plausible, even if unfamiliar) technological causes. But there are a few that are harder to rationally explain than others, and could be considered miracles.

Occurrences

"Yeah, well, a miracle happened to all of us, Walt. We survived a plane crash." -- Michael Dawson

Jack tells Sarah about the outcome of the surgery ("Man of Science, Man of Faith")
Yemi appears to Eko ("?")

Season 1

  • Walt told Michael: "Mr. Locke said a miracle happened to him.". ("Tabula Rasa")
  • Michael commented on the plane crash: "Yeah, well, a miracle happened to all of us, Walt. We survived a plane crash." ("Tabula Rasa")
  • Christian Shephard was seen by Jack on the Island, after he was pronounced dead in Australia and his body was shipped in a coffin. Jack searched after the apparition of Christian which lead him to the caves and there he miraculously found fresh water right when they desperately needed it. ("White Rabbit")
  • Kate and Sayid had this conversation:

KATE: People survive plane crashes all the time.

SAYID: Not like this one. The tail section broke off while we were still in the air. Our section cart wheeled through the jungle and yet we escaped with nothing but a few scrapes. How do you explain that?

KATE: Blind, dumb luck?

SAYID: No one's that lucky. We shouldn't have survived. ("The Moth")

  • Sun helped with Shannon's asthma, and Boone said: "It's a miracle. She just showed up with that mixture. She rubbed it on Shannon's chest and 10 minutes later she was breathing." ("Confidence Man")

Season 2

  • Jack managed to heal his patient and bride-to-be Sarah, who was paralyzed, even when he himself believed the surgery had no chance of success. He told Desmond that her recovery from paralysis would be a "miracle". ("Man of Science, Man of Faith")
  • Desmond told Jack: "If by some miracle you manage to get the computer working again you've got to enter the code: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42, hit execute. ("Orientation")
  • A black horse miraculously jumped in front of the Marshal's car, causing him to run off the side of the road, and allowing Kate to escape. ("What Kate Did")
  • Christian said this about a potential surgical patient: "Because what your father is looking for is not a surgical procedure. What he is looking for is a miracle." ("The Hunting Party")
  • After finding out about Sun's pregnancy, Jin said: "it's a miracle." ("The Whole Truth")
  • Charlotte Malkin drowned and came back to life. Although this was denied by Eko as a true miracle recognized by the Catholic church, Charlotte later came to him with a message from Yemi from "beyond", a person she could not have known was his deceased brother. ("?")
  • After Eko found Yemi's body he burned it along with the plane. He's later seen by both Eko and John in dreams, leading them to find the "?". ("?")

Season 3

  • Ben remarked about the plane crash: "Two days after I found out I had a fatal tumor on my spine, a spinal surgeon fell out of the sky. And if that's not proof of God, I don't know what is." ("The Cost of Living")
  • Juliet's experiments allowed her sister Rachel to become pregnant, apparently against all known medical science. Later Richard Alpert tells her she has a gift. ("Not in Portland")
  • Desmond commented on a soccer game: "Graybridge comes back from 2 goals down in the final 2 minutes and wins this game. It's a bloody miracle." ("Flashes Before Your Eyes")
  • Richard Alpert appears to age very slowly, when his present self is compared with himself in Ben's flashback. ("The Man Behind the Curtain")

Analysis

Surviving the crash of Flight 815

Many people miraculously survive the crash of Flight 815 ("Pilot, Part 1")
Main article: Mid-air break-up

The odds of so many passengers of Oceanic 815 surviving the mid-air break-up and crash are vastly remote. The fact that so many passengers survived with only minor scrapes enters a realm of improbability often ascribed to the miraculous.

Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons... IN SPAAAAAACE!!!

Contents

Summary

so first this happens, and then nine months later, a Prime pops out like this.

Aboard the Autobot spaceship Axalon, Alexis and her friends look back on Earth as they head towards Cybertron. Fred eats some chocolate and Billy cries that he forgot his video camera. On the bridge, Hot Shot and the Autobots salute Earth and the memory of Optimus Prime.

On the Decepticons' ship, Megatron orders the ship to be turned around so the Autobots can be destroyed.

Sparkplug, still holding Prime's Matrix, meets with several Mini-Cons. Moments later, hundreds of glowing lights swarm around the Autobot ship. High Wire - in English - introduces the lights as Mini-Con friends. After the swarm of Minis are introduced, the Street Action Mini-Con Team trigger a flashback in the humans to that time they saw a big evil in cyberspace. High Wire names the evil Unicron.

Blurr tries to pilot the Axalon through an asteroid field. In the thick of the space debris, the Decepticons start their attack. Alexis notices the Mini-Cons also running to help the Autobots in the battle. Thrust fights against Jetfire, Cyclonus fights against Blurr, and Starscream and Hot Shot continue their long-standing grudge. Scavenger erotically battles against Demolishor. Megatron easily overpowers Side Swipe.
When Megatron aims the Requiem Blaster at the Axalon, Hot Shot stands in his way. Meanwhile, on the Axalon's hull, Perceptor and Sparkplug present The Matrix to the swarm of their gathered friends. Several Mini-Cons plunge into the Matrix, where something begins to take shape.

Megatron degrades Hot Shot, but a large sphere of green light swoops around and knocks Megatron aside. To everybody's astonishment, Optimus stands alive. With a Max Flare, Optimus ruins the Decepticon's attack. At the end of the episode, Megatron is glad that Optimus is back.
