Minigames are games within a video game. Minigames in the GTA series are typically distinct from side missions in that they employ unique controls schemes or graphics that are not typically seen outside these minigames, and tend to have very limited benefits or none at all.

Minigames are small games in which player(s) set out to complete a certain objective. These games sometimes allow players to gain experience and items. They are identified with a red star File:Minigame icon.png icon on the map. Minigames can be repeated, unlike quests or miniquests which can only be completed once. You must be a member to play most minigames, although a small number are available to free-to-play players.

All the minigames currently available in RuneScape are listed below, each with a short description and a link to the main article.


Combat minigames

These minigames involve the training of combat skills, however many also involve non-combat skills.

There are no rewards for winning. Depending on the settings chosen, if you die during this minigame, it is possible that you will lose your items. One of the five free-to-play minigames.

Non-combat minigames

These minigames do not involve combat but involve other skills.

File:Mg blastfurnace.jpg Blast Furnace (m) Smithing An efficient way to smelt bars of metal using little coal, as well as a source of experience in several different skills.
File:Mg brimhaven.jpg Brimhaven Agility Arena (m) Agility An Agility course for players with moderately high Agility levels.
File:Mg gamesroom.jpg Burthorpe Games Room (m) - A room where players can compete in various board games.
File:Mg fishingtrawler.jpg Fishing Trawler (m) Fishing A fishing minigame in which players are at sea, trying to keep a leaking ship afloat catching fish. The fish are rewarded to the participants based on their fishing levels. 
File:Mg gnomeball.jpg Gnome Ball (m) Agility, Ranged A minigame where players try to pass and charge with a small ball towards a hoop to score a goal, while defending gnomes attempt tackling them.
File:Mg gnomerestaurant.jpg Gnome Restaurant (m) Cooking Players deliver food to customers within a time limit, gaining unique food rewards.
File:Mg orbproject.jpg Great Orb Project Runecrafting Two teams compete to collect orbs while preventing the other team from collecting theirs. Winners of each round gain runecrafting rewards. One of the five free-to-play minigames.
File:Mg impetuousimpulses.jpg Impetuous Impulses (m) Hunter A minigame where implings are hunted and trapped in magical jars. Rewards vary from a chisel to pieces of dragon arrows.
File:Mg magetraining.jpg Mage Training Arena (m) Magic A minigame, composed of four separate "sub-minigames". The rewards are Pizzazz points, exchangeable for abilities such as the Bones to Peaches spell, or items such as runes and Infinity Robes.
File:Mg roguesden.jpg Rogue's Den (m) Agility, Thieving Players navigate a maze with traps and obstacles by using Agility and Thieving. Failure results disqualification upon which some xp is awarded. Success may lead to attaining Rogue armour.
File:Mg roguetrader.jpg Rogue Trader (m) - Players barter with Ali Morrisane. The rewards include "cheap" runes, clothes, and blackjacks.
File:Mg sorceressesgarden.jpg Sorceress's Garden (m) Thieving Players attempt to sneak around watchful elementals guarding their gardens to arrive at Sq'irk Trees to pick Sq'irk fruits or herbs.
File:Mg stealingcreation.jpg Stealing Creation (m) All skills except Farming, Slayer, and Firemaking A team-based minigame where teams compete for the most points. Players make and use their own armour and weaponry to engage in combat, or gain further points through item creation and refinement.
File:Mg tearsofguthix.jpg Tears of Guthix (m) Quest points, your currently lowest skill. Collect the tears of the God of Balance in a sacred cave guarded by his faithful snake servant Juna. The tears give experience in the player's lowest skill.
File:Mg treasuretrails.jpg Treasure trails (m) - Players follow trails of clues to a potentially valuable treasure chest. Rewards range from mithril armour to food items to Holy Book pages, Trimmed Armour, God Armour and Third Age Armour.
File:Mg troublebrewing.jpg Trouble Brewing (m) Multiple skills Two teams compete as each try to brew the most bottles of 'rum'. Experience in a variety of skills can be earned for performing the many tasks needed in the process of 'rum' production.
File:Mg vinesweeper.jpg Vinesweeper (m) Farming A minesweeper-like game where players are rewarded with farming experience or purchase seeds.

Safe and dangerous classifications

Jagex has classified minigames as either Safe or Dangerous depending on whether Items are Kept on Death or Items are Not Kept on Death.

  • All Fired Up - You need to light some beacons, which can be found in the Wilderness.
  • Barrows - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Blast Furnace - You can be damaged by the steam lever. If you die, you will lose your items.
  • Brimhaven Agility Arena - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Bounty Hunter - If you die during this minigame, you will lose all of your items.
  • Champion's Challenge - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Clan Wars - Depending on the settings chosen, if you die during this minigame, it is possible that you will lose your items.
  • Gnome Ball - You can take damage from playing Gnome Ball, so there is a small chance of death, in which case you will lose your items.
  • Mage Arena - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Pyramid Plunder - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Rat Pits - It is possible that your cat may die.
  • Shades of Mort'ton (minigame) - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
  • Temple Trekking / Burgh de Rott Ramble - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items. Your gravestone will NOT work in this minigame.
  • Treasure Trails - If you die during this minigame, you will lose your items.
