Mini (ミニマム, Minimamu) is a recurring White Magic spell in the series. It inflicts the status of the same name, and is often found within the first 1/4 of the game.




Final Fantasy II

The spell Mini is a White Magic spell which attempts to inflict Mini on one or all enemies. The success rate increases with the spell's level. Any character can learn Mini by having them use the Mini Tome (called the Mini Scroll in the Origins release).

Mini Tome
Effect Allows the target to learn Mini when used outside of battle. Casts Mini VIII on all enemies when used in battle.

Final Fantasy III

It is first received from Desch. In the NES version, it acts similar to Death when cast on enemies, and causes the Mini status when cast on party members.

Final Fantasy IV

Rosa, Fusoya, Tellah, and Porom can cast Mini, known as Size in the J2e version. It costs 20 MP in the DS version and 6 MP in all other versions.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Rosa and Fusoya both start with the Mini spell, while Porom learns it at level 31 and Leonora learns it at level 32. It costs 6 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy V

Mini is a level 2 White Magic spell, bought in Phantom Village for 300 gil or found in a chest at Catapult. It costs 5 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy VII

The Transform Materia has Mini as its Level 1 spell, and costs 10 MP to cast.

Final Fantasy IX

Dagger and Eiko can cast Mini. It costs 8 MP to cast and 40 AP to master, and can be learned through Magic Racket, Asura's Rod, and Feather Boots. The boss Ozma is the only enemy in the game to utilize this spell against the party. The spell has a 50% accuracy.
