From TARDIS Index File, the free Doctor Who reference.

Milk is a substance secreted by mammals to feed their young.

Milk-Producing Species

Whether the female of a species exudes milk from its nipples or from simple ducts to nurture its young is one of the defining traits of mammals. (EDA: The Year of Intelligent Tigers) Similar nourishing substances are, however, produced by non-mammalian species. Malmooth can drink their own internal milk, (DW: Utopia) while the green milk produced by Skarasens is fed on by the Zygons. (NSA: Sting of the Zygons, EDA: The Bodysnatchers)

The only known cure for Spectrox toxaemia is the milk from a Queen Spectrox Bat. (DW: The Caves of Androzani)

Milk as a Beverage

Milk is also used by other species as a drink. The Humans of Earth harvested and drank the milk of cows.

Milk is often used in tea and coffee to add taste. (NA: Theatre of War) Milk can be sold in cartons or glass bottles, and can be delivered by milkmen. (DW: The Stolen Earth) Milk is sometimes consumed while warm as a sleep aid. (DW: Invasion of the Dinosaurs)

In some places, milk is sold in a Milk Market. (DW: Voyage of the Damned)

Milk is a liquid produced by the mammary glands of female mammals, which provides the primary source of nutrition for their newborns, before they are able to digest other types of food. In many cultures, non-sentient mammals are domesticated and their milk used as food, either as a beverage by itself, or in products such as cheese and ice cream. On Earth, cows were the most common milk animals, along with goats.

Milk is an opaque white liquid produced by the mammary glands of female mammals (including monotremes). Popular on Earth, it provides the primary source of nutrition for newborns before they are able to digest other types of food. Humans also produce dairy products using milk, like cheese. The early lactation milk is known as colostrum and carries the mother's antibodies to the baby (only during the first 6 months, that's why they have to be vaccinated after this age). It can reduce the risk of many diseases in the baby. The exact components of raw milk varies by species, but it contains significant amounts of saturated fat, protein and calcium as well as vitamin C. It is generally considered good for Humans.

Each day during class, the young Spartan-IIs were served a tray of crackers and a cup of milk.[1]

By 2552, milk, like most dairy products, was heavily rationed, products labeled 'milk' typically being made from soy or reconstituted animal fat.[2]

About Milk

Milk most often means the nutrient fluid produced by the mammary glands of female mammals. The female ability to produce milk is one of the defining characteristics of mammals and provides the primary source of nutrition for newborns before they are able to digest more diverse foods. It is also processed into dairy products such as cream, butter, yogurt, ice-cream, gelato, cheese, casein, whey protein, lactose, condensed milk, powdered milk, and many other food-additive and industrial products.

Bucket of milk

A Bucket of milk is an item used primarily in Cooking. It is also used to feed kittens, and if fed to a hellcat, it will turn back into a normal cat[1].

A bucket of milk is a vital ingredient in making cakes (and, by extension, chocolate cakes)[2]. It is also needed to make chocolate saturdays in gnome cooking[3].

Players can turn a bucket of milk into chocolatey milk by adding chocolate dust, or they can add the milk to nettle tea[4]. Depending on their Cooking level, members can use a dairy churn to turn a bucket of milk into a pot of cream, a pat of butter, or a piece of cheese[2].

Obtaining buckets of milk

Players can use a bucket on a dairy cow to gain a bucket of milk, or simply click on the dairy cow when they have at least one empty bucket in their inventory[5]. Members can gain a bucket of milk from any type of larder in the kitchen of their player-owned houses[6].

A bucket of milk spawns in a hut in the eastern part of Rellekka[7].

Buckets of milk are often used by new players as a way to make money. Purchasing the bucket from a store for 2gp and selling the bucket of milk for 110 coins results in a fairly large profit. Due to the updates on 27th May 2009, a possible mistake has caused the filling of a bucket with milk to be classified as a members only action. To compensate for this, players could (for one week only) speak to Gillie Groats the milkmaid to receive free buckets of milk.
