History

Mikaal Tomas is an alien who traveled to Earth to help conquer it, but instead turned against his war-like people in defense of the human race. He has blue skin and originally wore Mr. Miracle-style flight-discs on his feet that allowed him to fly and a medallion containing a sonic crystal around his neck, with the latter power gem eventually became embedded in his chest allowing him fire bolts of energy. He later suffered amnesia until he turned up in Opal City meeting the new Starman, Jack Knight in the 1990's. He was notable for being portrayed in a gay relationship. From an alien perspective, Mikaal found himself attracted to both genders equally.

Mikaal's homeworld is Talok III, sister planet to Talok VIII, the home of Umbra. The inhabitants of the eighth planet have darker blue skin, but are the same species.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Alien Physiology: As a non-terrestrial being, Mikaal's body chemistry is different from that of a normal human, providing him with different physical attributes, such as the ability to exist in the vacuum of space longer than a normal human.

• Flight: Mikaal is capable of directional flight and levitation due to his fusion with the sonic crystal.

• Energy Projection: Mikaal can project concussive blasts of energy which he uses for offensive attack. Like the power of flight, this too is an extension of his bonding with the sonic crystal in his chest. Able to shoot multiple energy blasts at the same time. Also he is able to direct the energy blasts.

• Regeneration

• Superhuman Strength

Abilities

Aviation: Able to pilot regular Earth planes.

Hand-to-Hand Combat (Advanced)

Weaknesses

Formerly addicted to illegal narcotics.

Paraphernalia

Equipment

Mikaal Tomas possesses a sonic crystal which is embedded in his chest. The crystal grants limited superhuman abilities such as the power of flight and energy projection.

Notes

• Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
