Microsoft was a business corporation founded in 1975 that sold computer hardware and software and rose to particular prominence in the last two decades of the 20th century and into the early 21st.
In 1996, Microsoft manufactured android versions of Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, and the Grey Lady for the Festival of Ghana. (DW: The Chase) The company later underwent investigation for building dangerous robots. (EDA: Interference - Book One)
The original 1965 serial The Chase does not identify Microsoft as the maker of the robots -- indeed the company wasn't even established for another decade. This was later subject to a retcon in a novel.
Microsoft creators of the Windows operating system, entered the "console wars' after Sega left and took it's place with the Xbox. After the original Xbox's life-cycle ended Microsoft released the Xbox 360 a powerful console with streamlined online play and stores. During the seventh generation of consoles Square-Enix began to support Microsoft by releasing Final Fantasy titles on it's console for the first time.
Microsoft are the developers of some of the "platforms" that Grand Theft Auto games are available on.
