Michigan is a region of the North American continent on the planet Earth, with boundaries that were created as the area was settled as a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America nation.

The Federation starships USS Michigan were named for this location.

History

One of the major cities located in Michigan was Detroit. In 2154, Captain Jonathan Archer and Subcommander T'Pol were sent back in time to the city in 2004 by temporal agent Daniels. (ENT episode: "Carpenter Street")

Erika Hernandez has also been in the city of the Detroit in the early 22nd century. (ENT episode: "Home")

Lake Michigan
Lake Michigan is one of the five Great Lakes of North America, and the only one in the group located entirely within the United States. It is bounded, from west to east, by the U.S. states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. For a brief period, the informally named Justice League Detroit used a secret tunnel beneath the lake to access the Justice League Bunker.

Michigan is the 26th state of the United States of America.

  • In his introduction to Jim Henson: The Works, Harry Belafonte claims to have observed children watching Sesame Street in "an over-crowed, below-poverty-level dwelling in a ghetto" in Detroit (and also in New York City and Chicago, Illinois).
  • On September 29, 2006, Kermit the Frog was Grand Marshall of Michigan State University's homecoming parade in East Lansing, Michigan. He also received an Honorary Alumni Award on the 28th and made several appearances at campus events, including a brunch and a football game. [1]
  • Big Bird was pictured on the cover of Sports Illustrated with Mark Fidrych of the Detroit Tigers in the June 1977 issue.
  • To celebrate his election, in 2010, the mayor of Detroit gave over 4,500 Sesame Street Live tickets to the under-privileged, declared January 27 "Sesame Street Live Day", and gave Elmo a key to the city.
