Megaton Atomic Bomb is a world object in Fallout 3.

This bomb was dropped on Washington D.C. during the Great War in 2077; however it remained unexploded in its crater. It is active, however, and the Player is given the choice to blow it (and Megaton) away in a cloud of nuclear dust, or disarm it and save the town's population. It sits in a puddle of radioactive water from which Confessor Cromwell constantly makes a speech about his religion.

The founders of Megaton discovered the bomb and a group of people calling themselves the Children of Atom worshipping it. They teamed up with them, and, using planes from a now-demolished airport, built Megaton out of airplane parts. The bomb itself has served as the central point of the town since its construction, as it made the crater in which the town sits.
