Matthew Robison {born 27th July 1944) was educated at Kings College Cambridge and was lead director on the earliest episodes of Eastenders helping to cast iconic roles such as Den Watts, Pauline Fowler, Ian Beale. Dot Cotton and Nick Cotton.

The prolific director and producer directed Coronation Street early in his career and has written episodes of Crossroads. Other directing jobs include Emmerdale Farm, Crown Court, Howards Way & Doctor Who. In recent years he has also worked as a producer, or executive producer, contributing to the Cambodian film Staying single when? and television programmes such as Adele Rose's Byker Grove. As with Eastenders Robinson helped oversee initial production and had casting input
