Symbol of Marimbo
A shrine dedicated to Marimbo.

Marimbo is the ancient patron god of monkeys. At some point, he went to Ape Atoll in search of followers. There he found monkeys; he may or may not have granted them their intelligence. Marimbo decided to stay on Ape Atoll, and the monkeys there still worship him to this day. The town Marim, on the island of Ape Atoll, is named after him and his only known place of worship is the temple there.

Large statues of Marimbo sit inside the temple on Ape Atoll. Players may see them next to the altar on the second floor of the building. The statues depict him as a giant gorilla. His symbol is a triangle which points downward, with a vertical spike hanging from the bottom point. The symbol may be seen on Hafuba's hat and on his back, as well as on Denadu and Lofu at the mace and the chest.

  • The name Marimbo might also be based off the xylophone like instrument, the Marimba.
