Manticore is a genus the Beast Family introduced Final Fantasy XI: Rise of the Zilart. They are rather bizarre-looking creatures, possessing an almost ape-like build but sporting leathery wings, vicious fangs, horns, and a long spiked tail. The wings are not large enough for flight, but are believed to be used as cooling units, given the manticore's hot desert homes. They are typically weak against Water, but resist Fire and Wind.
