Welcome to Corriepedia!

This wiki was created on 21st May 2008, and currently has 10,941 articles.

Coronation Street is a British drama serial set in the north of England, chronicling the professional and private lives of the residents of a backstreet in a fictional suburb of Greater Manchester. It is the fourth longest running television series in the UK.

The following pages link to the main sections of the site:
We also cover the spin-offs!
2009 was Coronation Streets fiftieth year. Production during that year was overseen by Producer Kim Crowther and Executive Producer Kieran Roberts. Events included the move of the weekly Wednesday episode to Thursday in July, the release of DVD spin-off Romanian Holiday in October, and the death of Blanche Hunt actress Maggie Jones in December. Storylines included Kevin Webster and Molly Dobbs's affair, Steve McDonald and Becky Granger's wedding and entanglement with bent copper DC Hooch, Peter Barlow's struggle with alcoholism, Tony Gordon's efforts to keep his part in the murder of Liam Connor secret, Ken Barlow's affair with Martha Fraser and Norris Cole's estranged brother Ramsay Clegg attempting to reconcile with Norris after 50 years. 260 new episodes were broadcast on ITV in 2009.
See Corriepedia's past Featured Articles here.
28th January 2009: In Coronation Streets 7000th episode, Maria Connor was surprised to see Jed Stone drinking in the Rovers, as she had been convinced that Tony Gordon had murdered him. In December, Jed had supported Maria in her campaign against Tony, who she believed had killed her husband Liam, but he mysterious disappeared at Christmas. Upon his return Jed told Maria that they were wrong about Tony. Maria was shocked by the turn of events and began to doubt her suspicions about Tony, unaware that Tony had in fact arranged Liam's death, and following his attempt on Jed's life on Christmas Eve, he had forced Jed to move to Wigan to get him out of the way. Convincing Maria that he had killed Jed and then arranging for him to visit Coronation Street was merely Tony's way of silencing Maria.
...that in a 2001 episode, Todd Grimshaw, played by Bruno Langley, interacts with a character who Langley had played before being cast as Todd?
...that only ten episodes of Coronation Street were actually broadcast live?
...that Ivy Tilsley was initially credited as Ivy Tyldesley?
New episodes of Coronation Street are broadcast in the following countries:
Current pace: February 2009
Current pace: April 2009
Current pace: November 2008

Director announced for the next Muppet movie: The Hollywood Reporter announced in January 2010 that Flight of the Conchords co-creator Jason Bobin has been hired to direct the next Muppet movie, which was written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller. The working title announced at the D23 Expo in September is The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made! New Muppet videos: The Muppets Studio launched their new HD video streams with "Bohemian Rhapsody" on November 23rd, a full-cast rendition of the classic Queen song. Ringing of the Bells followed on December 10th. Making the rounds: Early in the New Year, The Muppets have been making the rounds, with appearances on America's Funniest Home Videos and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Sesame Street's 40th Anniversary: Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The show first hit television airwaves on November 10, 1969. To mark the occasion, Sesame Workshop released several celebratory items on November 10, 2009 (the 40th anniversary, to the day, of Sesame Street's debut). A collectible book, A Celebration of Forty Years of Life on the Street, and a retrospective DVD set, 40 Years of Sunny Days will hit stores on November 10th. Sesame Street's landmark 40th season premiered on PBS stations nationwide the same day. Google also celebrated for the week leading up to the anniversary with a series of Sesame Street Google Doodles. |
| Jim Henson |
|---|
Jim Henson began working with puppets as a college student, creating the show Sam and Friends in 1955 for a local Washington, D.C. television station. The energetic Muppets soon became a popular fixture, and led to appearances on national variety shows. Henson's commercials for a local coffee company, Wilkins Coffee, were so popular that he was hired to create similar commercials around the country. In the early 1960s, Henson moved to New York City to work on a variety of projects, including a regular guest spot on The Jimmy Dean Show for the first Muppet star, Rowlf the Dog.
In 1969, Henson was invited to participate in a ground-breaking educational show for television, Sesame Street. Initially, the Muppets were meant to be just one element among many on the show -- but the popularity of Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Grover, Ernie and Bert soon made the Muppets the core of the show. Over the years, the Muppet cast has grown to include Mr. Snuffleupagus, Count von Count, Zoe, and, of course, the international superstar Elmo, who stars in his own segment, Elmo's World. Sesame Street is now in its 40th season, and the newest star is fairy-in-training Abby Cadabby.
In 1976, Henson created his signature project -- The Muppet Show, a weekly prime-time variety show filled with songs, sketches and talented guest stars. Kermit the Frog is the charming and mostly unflappable host, presiding over a motley crew of performers, including diva Miss Piggy, hopeful comedian Fozzie Bear, daredevil performance artist Gonzo, and the house band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. The Muppet Show was a huge international success, making unlikely stars out of the Swedish Chef, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker, and the two old cranks in the balcony, Statler and Waldorf.
The Muppet Show cast has continued to entertain audiences for over 30 years, spinning off into a popular series of movies, including The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
In the 1980s, Henson created new worlds -- the magical underground civilization of Fraggle Rock, the imagination-filled nursery of Muppet Babies, and the fantasy worlds of The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Henson's work has continued to live on beyond his death in 1990, and new productions featuring his creations are always in progress.
This wiki is dedicated to documenting, exploring and enjoying the enormous body of work that Jim Henson has created and inspired.

Ultimecia (アルティミシア, Arutimishia in Japanese, Artemisia in Italian and German, and Artemisa in Spanish) is the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VIII. A powerful Sorceress from a future many generations ahead of the game's time, Ultimecia intended to compress time into one single moment with a form of magic known as Time Compression. She used a device called "Junction Machine Ellone," as a means to send her consciousness into the distant past. In the past era, Ultimecia manipulated world events, and utilized her ability to possess other sorceresses.
The first sorceress known to have fallen under Ultimecia's control was Edea Kramer of Centra. Ultimecia resided within Edea's body for a long period of time in order to enact her plan of Time Compression. In her final confrontation with Squall Leonhart, she attempted to absorb all that ever had and ever would exist, including all time and space, in order to become "a living god." However, her ambitions were ultimately thwarted at the hands of Squall and his friends. (more...)

Artwork of the airship Lindblum, from the upcoming game Final Fantasy XIII. The Lindblum references the city of Final Fantasy IX in name and likeness; it is a gigantic carrier ship that houses hundreds of lesser airships of the Sanctum Skyfleet, much like the Lindblum of Final Fantasy IX was a docking place for the airships of Cid Fabool IX. The airship Lindblum's two wings can form a sort of cocoon for protection, or unfold to allow for other craft to dock with it. It is captained by Cid Raines and is a visitable location in Final Fantasy XIII.

Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto IV has been remodeled to look much more like New York City compared to its GTA III era renditions, featuring Broker (Brooklyn), Algonquin (Manhattan), Dukes (Queens), Bohan (Bronx) and Alderney (New Jersey). The total map area is slightly smaller than that of San Andreas, but is immensely more detailed and has no "wasted" open space such as countryside or desert.

Dear visitor, welcome to the Ice Hockey Wiki. As its name suggests, this wiki is dedicated to ice hockey. But what is this? Ice hockey is a fast and exciting team sport played on a specifically designed rink. The goal of the game is very simple: the players, two defencemen and three forwards per side, must score goals in the opposing team's net, located at the other end of the ice and protected by a goaltender. Instead of shoes, each player wears a pair of skates to move around the rink. In order to score goals, they must send a vulcanized rubber disc called puck in the aforementioned net using a specially designed stick.
The game originates from Canada and has spread all around the world. If you want to learn more about this sport that passionates us to the point of dedicating ourselves to a wiki, then you've come to the right place. If you already know a lot, you've come to the right place, too. Please take a look around, read a bit, and, if you have knowledge we still miss, feel totally free to add it by editing our articles or creating new ones! This is a collaborative project where every little bit of help is welcomed.

Every country where hockey is played has some kind of a national championship. In some cases, such as National Hockey League or Continental Hockey League, the championship is that of a league comprising more than one nation; in many other cases, it is a multi-level system, with one top league and one or several lower divisions between which a system of promotion and relegation exists.
Here are some of the strongest leagues worldwide:

Major International competitions in ice hockey are sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). This federation has 64 members and takes care of organizing the ice hockey events during the Olympic Games, the World Championships and several other competitions such as the European Champions Cup, the European Women's Champions Cup, the Continental Cup, the Champions Hockey League and the Victoria Cup. Its main aim is to help foster the development of the game worldwide; it also is the governing body of all the member nations' National Federations.
Several other major competitions are not ruled by the IIHF. Among them are the World Cup, the Canada Cup, the Deutschland Cup, the Spengler Cup and the Tournoi international de hockey pee-wee de Québec.

The Portage Terriers are a Canadian Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. They are members of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), itself a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) sanctioned by Hockey Canada.
Founded in 1967, the team was one of the founding members of the now defunct Central Manitoba Junior Hockey League, which merged after only one season of existance with the MJHL. They have been MJHL members ever since, and won 5 titles across the years (1973, 1990, 2005, 2008, 2009). 1973 turned out to be a special year for the team, which did not only win the Manitoba title, but also the Anavet Cup, the Abbott Cup and the Centennial Cup. The quadruple crowning earned the 1973 Portage Terriers to be inducted to the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame.

... in unlikely Australia is the fifth oldest ice hockey trophy in existance? The Goodall Cup is indeed awarded since 1909 to the national senior men's ice hockey champion team of Australia. Traditionally the prize of an inter-state tournament, the Cup became the Australian Ice Hockey League's championship trophy since 2000.
New South Wales is the most crowned state, with 38 titles. Of the AIHL era, the Newcastle North Stars are the most frequent victor with 4 titles. The Goodall Cup celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2009.

The Ice Hockey Wiki (IHW) is a project created to cover ice hockey as thoroughly as possible. The wiki was founded on June 27th 2006 by DMighton and has, ever since its creation, kept growing at a steady pace. We encourage visitors to create an account and join us in our effort to build the most complete and accurate ice hockey encyclopedia ever.
You do not have to create 50 new articles every day to contribute. Heck, you don't even need to drop by every day either! There is no obligation here. You may want to begin by correcting little spelling mistakes our members may have made to begin with; you may as well correct a team roster, add a line or two about a particular event that occurred in the history of a particular team or league, add statistics for a player, create an article to "blue" a dead link... In the end, every little step counts, and every edit made makes IHW better.
This is a free project for everyone; therefore, everyone can contribute. We hope to have your help!

The Ice Hockey Wiki community is a small but dedicated group of people who love ice hockey and are bound by a common goal: to build the most complete and accurate ice hockey encyclopedia ever written. We all have our very own
If you have any question about the wiki itself or about editing, you should ask our two administrators: DMighton, founder of the IHW, and Yannzgob.
We have a discussion page, the Locker Room. Don't hesitate to drop by the place and ask questions, propose things or join ongoing discussions!

You decided to help us? Thank you! We are glad you stepped in. We realize there may be quite a few things confusing for people who are new to wiki editing, and several little technicalities you may not be aware of if you have not hanged around here for a long time, so we have some resources to assist you. We suggest you start by reading the Ice Hockey Wiki Guidelines. That's a good place to begin with, as our rules and policies are stated there. Don't worry, we don't have many, and they are very simple and instinctive.
If you are new to wiki editing, you should then read this help page about editing. You should also read the Manual of style. It is not a very long read, and it will tell you what you need to know about how to write a new article. If you want to practice using the editing interface, you should do it in the sandbox. We also have a small FAQ to assist you with some things.

The Ice Hockey Wiki is a pretty big wiki and is certainly not about to stop growing. Considering the fact that the world is a large place across which hockey is spread, IHW is beginning to create specific projects within the wiki for specific aspects of the sport. Here is a list of all the projects ongoing within the IHW. You are free to join any ongoing project or to start new ones at any time, but in the latter case, you should first check if there is not already one in progress covering what you plan to work on.

Marvel Comics began life as "Timely Publications" in 1939, with comic books featuring Captain America, Namor the Sub-Mariner and an early version of the Human Torch. Legendary comics writer Stan Lee was hired as an office assistant in 1939. Within two years, the 19-year-old Lee was promoted to editor of the Marvel Comics line, a post that he would keep until 1972.
Everything changed in 1961, when Lee and artist Jack Kirby created The Fantastic Four -- a new style of superhero comic that focused on the characters' internal drama as well as their heroic adventures. The style was a huge success, and the Lee/Kirby team went on to create the Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, the Mighty Thor and the X-Men. The prolific Lee worked with artist Steve Ditko to create Marvel's greatest success story, Spider-Man. Stan Lee's Marvel revolution extended beyond the characters and storylines to the way in which comic books engaged the readership and built a sense of community between fans and creators.
Today, Marvel's heroes are blockbuster stars on the silver screen, with Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men and the Hulk becoming regular features of the summer movie season.

Magic is one of the most important skills in RuneScape. It is used in combat, it allows crafted items to be enchanted, fast transport around Gielinor via teleports, and via alchemy, magic is probably the single most important source of coins. While it is possible to play the game without being skilled in magic, it is a considerable advantage to be able to use many spells, especially the alchemy and the teleports. Read more…

Quoreal was one of the last Supreme Overlords of the Yuuzhan Vong species and a conservative leader whose reluctance to invade the galaxy led to his usurpation and death. Reigning in the last century of the Yuuzhan Vong fleet's long journey through the Intergalactic Void toward a new galaxy, Quoreal was seen as a traditional and cautious leader by many Yuuzhan Vong. His ability to maintain unity over the species was frequently called into question by Domain Jamaane, a powerful faction whose champion, Shimrra, was a designated heir to the position of Supreme Overlord. Although Quoreal's primacy was not under a direct threat from the Jamaane, matters changed in 29 BBY, when an advance force returned to the fleet with news that they had encountered a living planet known as Zonama Sekot. Quoreal's priests counseled the Supreme Overlord against prosecuting the invasion, proclaiming that the world would be the undoing of the Yuuzhan Vong. Quoreal subsequently announced that the fleet would abandon its advance and instead search for a new home. Quoreal's declaration was greeted with hostility from a broad section of Yuuzhan Vong society. In alliance with a coterie of high-ranking warriors, Shimrra launched a sudden and decisive coup against Quoreal and his followers. The Supreme Overlord's warriors were wiped out, his priests, advisers, and intendants purged. Quoreal was toppled from the throne and personally executed by Shimrra, who claimed the position of Supreme Overlord and announced that the invasion of the galaxy would proceed as planned. Over half a century following Quoreal's death, Shimrra launched the invasion, precipitating the Yuuzhan Vong War. It was not until the final years of the conflict that the caution of Quoreal and his priests was vindicated; Zonama Sekot, its existence denied by Shimrra as a falsehood, re-emerged from the Unknown Regions and lent its support to the galaxy's defenders. It’s Star Wars Galaxies. It’s an empire divided. It’s our passion. And, it’s a galaxy at war. Following the recent situation on Dathomir, and additional rumors of Imperial atrocities, it is imperative that we take extreme measures to expand our intelligence gathering networks and secure vital communications routes. I am calling on all fleet commanders to rally ships and available ground forces to three critical strategic points across the galaxy... - Leia Organa The Galactic Civil War Update was designed with one sole purpose: to bring the GCW to the forefront of the game. The intention was to make sure that every player was affected by the Civil War that the Galaxy was in the midst of and had, until this point, not quite made its mark on gameplay. With this update, your GCW points are directly responsible for control of cities, planets, and the galaxy. You will see these changes reflected on your planetary and galactic maps. Bestine on Tatooine, Dearic on Talus, and Keren on Naboo have been turned on for the new invasion system. |

Xanthus Sen-Syn is a player character originally from the Tarquinas server for Star Wars Galaxies. He can be considered a veteran, as he has been online (for the most part) the entire five years of the game’s existence. Upon dissolution of the Tarquinas server, Xanthus was forced to move to Bloodfin and change his name to Xanthu's Sen-Syn. Xanthus Sen-Syn is an orphan from the world of Sethra. The last member of his race, he set out into the galaxy to learn the reason for his family’s death and that of his people. Leaving his surrogate father, a Twi'lek named Qev Sonuna; a slight detour by the Galactic Empire saw his journey making an unexpected detour. After his transport was seized, he received a free ticket for the planet Tatooine, destination: the city of Mos Eisley... |

TibiaWiki is a Wiki project which was started by Erig on November 22, 2004. It has since become one of the largest and most often updated sources of Tibian information on the internet, reaching up to more than 1,000,000 unique visits a month (as of March 2007). It is also the most favourite fansite as of this poll. Of course, its popularity is only because of the dedicated people that contribute.
When Erig.net became a Supported Fansite on November 24, 2005, TibiaWiki, being part of that site, became a supported fansite too. However TibiaWiki had an immense slowness during peak times under the old domain because of its popularity among Tibia players. The new domain hosted by Wikia provides a better availability of this well-liked fansite, which has been supported since January 22, 2008. With the introduction of the new fansite programme, TibiaWiki became a promoted fansite, on November 11, 2008.

D.D.クロウ
![]() With the recent release of "Blackwing" monsters along with more DARK support cards, duelists have been looking for other DARK Winged Beast-Type monsters and this card is by far one of the best which fits in those categories. Now at first glance, this card might not seem like much with only 100 ATK and DEF. Virtually every monster in the game can destroy it in battle. However, the effect of D.D. Crow makes up for all its flaws in battle and, at the same time, makes it a noteworthy card. So what makes its effect so useful? Well firstly, it can be used against the quite commonly-played "Pot of Avarice" by removing 1 of the monsters your opponent selects to return to their Deck, preventing them from returning the 4 other monsters that they wanted back in their Deck. The effect of "D.D. Crow" can also be used to remove the third DARK monster in your opponent's Graveyard slowing them down in the attempt to Summon the infamous "Dark Armed Dragon", or you could remove that fourth "Lightsworn" preventing the Summoning of "Judgment Dragon" and possibly giving you another turn to start a counter attack. Now of course "D.D. Crow" isn't just limited to removing monsters. You can also remove your opponent's Spell and Trap Cards as well, stopping cards like "Magical Stone Excavation", "Mask of Darkness", and "Spell Reproduction" dead in their tracks. Also, if the card has a cost to activate it, your opponent will still have to pay it and get nothing back as a result giving you more of a field/hand advantage. Its effect, ironically, can also help the Summon and activate the effect of the aforementioned "Dark Armed Dragon", since it is also a DARK monster and can contribute to the three DARK monsters in your Graveyard required to Special Summon it. As you can tell, "D.D. Crow" is a very flexible card and can be quite deadly and annoying when used correctly. With all these examples of stopping cards from either being summoned or being able to resolve their effects, there is no reason why "D.D. Crow" shouldn't be at least a Side Deck in your most competitive Deck. Stats

| Ruby Text for Japanese Characters | ||||
|
We have begun entering all Japanese characters for all relevant cards, using a rather neat set of tags called "Ruby". This enables characters to be entered above others in a smaller text, mimicking how Konami prints the text on their cards. Subsequently, browsing this Wikia in Internet Explorer is recommended, since this renders correctly. However, Firefox users may be wondering why they just see a set of brackets with characters. Firefox, as it turns out, does not have out-of-the-box support for XHTML Ruby. But, all is not lost, simply go here to download the XHTML Ruby Extension, works on all Firefox versions from 1.0 to 3.0.*. |

The wiki is a community effort - if you cannot find the information you are searching for, please add it to the wiki to help other users! Want to contribute to Wikia's "City of" Wiki but don't know where to start? One good place to start is by editing articles that are designated as Stub articles and Work in Progress articles. These articles need anything from minor tweaks to major overhauls, and anything you have to add would be appreciated! If you want to dive into writing some highly needed articles from scratch, check out the list of Wanted Pages. These are pages that are linked to from other pages but that have no articles associated with them. They are sorted by the number of links that point to them, so by filling in the articles towards the top of the list, you will be giving the most bang for your temporal buck.
The forums are where in-depth discussions of the City of Wiki and chat about what the community is currently working on take place! |
